This whole-home remodel in Salt Lake City was a true top-to-bottom transformation. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that every room needed attention. Like many older homes in the Salt Lake City area, the house had a small footprint, closed-off rooms, and limited storage. Our goal was to create a home that felt open, functional, and modern - without losing its character.
One of the biggest upgrades in this Salt Lake City renovation was opening the kitchen to the living room. Removing walls allowed natural light to flow through the space, turning a cramped layout into an inviting open-concept living area.
Custom Kitchen Design for a Small Space
Designing the kitchen required careful planning. Fitting modern appliances, storage, and prep space into a compact layout took multiple design iterations. The solution was a custom corner sink, which allowed us to make the most of every inch without compromising functionality.
We also worked around an existing structural beam that separated the pantry. While we were initially unsure about this layout choice, the finished result exceeded expectations. The two-tone kitchen cabinets added contrast and visual interest, an increasingly popular choice in kitchen remodeling projects.
Master Bathroom and Half Bath Remodel Challenges
The bathroom remodel presented another unique challenge. The home’s windows were positioned close together, making it difficult to divide space between the master bathroom and half bath. Through thoughtful layout planning, we were able to create two functional, well-lit bathrooms that felt intentional rather than forced.
Bathroom remodeling is one of the most valuable upgrades for homeowners in Salt Lake City, and this project shows how smart design can overcome even difficult constraints.

Basement Remodel and Egress Window Installation in Salt Lake City
The basement renovation was relatively simple in scope, but it included our first egress window installation. Adding egress windows is a common requirement for Salt Lake City basement remodels, improving safety while increasing usable living space and resale value.
Exterior Remodeling and Curb Appeal Upgrade
During construction, bringing equipment through the front yard was unavoidable. Once that happened, upgrading the exterior became an easy decision. The home’s new exterior features a black roof and black windows, creating a bold contrast against warm brick and wood tones. The result is a clean, modern exterior that fits beautifully into the surrounding Salt Lake City neighborhood.
A Complete Salt Lake City Home Renovation
This project is a great example of how a Salt Lake City home remodel can completely transform the way a house looks and functions. From the open-concept kitchen to custom cabinetry, bathroom renovations, basement upgrades, and exterior improvements, every detail was designed with purpose.
